Postponed: Newport Neighborhood Meeting

NEWPORT, RI – As clean up and recovery efforts continue in the wake of Hurricane Irene, Congressman Cicilline is postponing the neighborhood supper for First District constituents in the Newport area that was originally scheduled for tomorrow evening, Tuesday, August 30, 2011,atthe Thompson Middle School in Newport, RI.

The neighborhood supper will be rescheduled and a notice will go out with an updated date and time.

At the neighborhood supper Congressman Cicilline and Newport area residents will have the opportunity to discuss some of the work the Congressman has been doing in Washington, including introducing a jobs and manufacturing plan for Rhode Island, and protecting seniors’ benefits, Medicare, and Medicaid from devastating cuts while at the same time tackling the nation’s debt.

The supper will also provide the opportunity for people to learn more about the services Congressman Cicilline’s Pawtucket office can offer for accessing Social Security, Medicare, veterans’ benefits and more.
