Congressman Cicilline Honors the Providence Veterans Affairs Medical Center

Providence, RI – This week, U.S. Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) met with officials from the Providence Veterans Medical Center to discuss how he can continue to support the services the VA provides to the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces.
Congressman Cicilline also presented Providence Veterans Affairs Medical Center Acting Director William J. Burney with the official Congressional Record of the speech he delivered on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in recognition of the award-winning work of the organization.
“As the Acting Director of the Providence VA Medical Center, I would like to thank Congressman Cicilline for taking the time to visit us today to recognize our employees for receiving the bronze award from the National Center for Patient Safety. His interest in the Providence VA Medical Center and the care and services we provide to veterans is appreciated. We are grateful for his support and commend him for highlighting our accomplishments in the Congressional Record,” said Burney. The Providence Veterans Medical Center in Rhode Island provides personalized outpatient and inpatient health care to veterans.

MR. CICILLINE. Madam Speaker, I rise today to recognize and honor the Providence Veterans Affairs Medical Center for their outstanding service to the heroic men and women who serve in our Armed Forces.
The Providence VA Medical Center is an award-winning health care facility in Rhode Island providing personalized outpatient and inpatient health care to our veterans. Recently the Providence VA received the National Center for Patient Safety’s 2010 Cornerstone Recognition Program Bronze Award for successfully providing high quality health services to our veterans.
The men and women who serve in the Armed Forces put their lives on the line every day to protect the freedoms that we enjoy here at home. We owe our troops, veterans, and their families our utmost gratitude and respect, in addition to exceptional medical care for their great sacrifices on our behalf.
I commend the Providence VA Medical Center for their excellent service to our veterans. Congratulations on your achievements, and thank you for your commitment to Rhode Island’s veterans.
