Apr 9, 2019

WASHINGTON – Democratic Policy and Communication Committee (DPCC) Chair David N. Cicilline (RI-01) issued the following statement after the House Foreign Affairs Committee approved his legislation to prohibit the Trump administration from engaging in military activity in Venezuela unless Congress authorizes an intervention:

“The American people are sick and tired of war without end. They want to bring our troops home and invest in our own country. If President Trump wants to put troops in harm’s way in Venezuela, he needs to come to Congress to request authorization.”
