Cicilline Statement on Impeachment Investigation

Sep 12, 2019

WASHINGTON – Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) Chair David N. Cicilline (RI-01), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement today:

“No one in this country is above the law, including the President of the United States. The Constitution makes clear that the impeachment process is how Congress holds corrupt officials accountable for their actions.”

“By any reasonable measure, this is the most corrupt administration in modern history. With today’s vote, we have established procedures to govern our impeachment investigation of the President, in order to decide whether to recommend Articles of Impeachment to the full House.”

“This lawless President must be held accountable for his actions. That’s what we intend to do through this impeachment investigation.”
