WASHINGTON, DC –U.S. Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) announced today Raytheon Integrated Systems will receive $7,552,000 from the U.S. Department of the Navy. The award will support the work of the Zumwalt Class Destroyer Program (DDG-1000).

Working with the Navy and a team of industry leaders, Raytheon is leading the effort to transform the Navy's modern ship designs to reality. Raytheon’s Total Ship Computing Environment is the integrated mission system for the DDG 1000 Zumwalt-class destroyer. The system will control all of the ship’s operating systems.

"During a recent visit to Raytheon, I was able to see, first-hand, these advanced ship systems and hardware components coming to life," said Congressman Cicilline. "The innovators we have working at Raytheon are performing critical work to keep our nation safe. Their technological advancements are impressive. Raytheon can be proud of the contributions they're making to our local economy and the future of our U.S. Navy."

Zumwalt is a class of multi-mission naval ships designed for surface warfare, anti-aircraft, and naval fire support. Nearly 30% of the work will  be performed in Portsmouth, Rhode Island including the ongoing efforts of Raytheon and the DDG 1000 industry team, which includes a host of large and small business supplier partners in Rhode Island.
