The best way for America to remain competitive in a global economy is to ensure that students can access a quality, affordable higher education. And yet costs of college and secondary school continue to rise, placing a financial strain on students, young people, and families. It is critical that we address this issue and ensure that everyone in this country can access higher education and graduate without an insurmountable burden of student loan debt.
 
Next Saturday, I will be convening a roundtable to discuss college affordability with state and local partners, including Rhode Island General Treasurer Seth Magaziner. This College Affordability Roundtable will be held at:
